Due to the Canterbury earthquakes, many of the schools in the region are still being rebuilt. Through a collaboration of the Ministry of Education, CORE Education, Evaluation Associates, Leadership Lab, Massey University, and a range of Canterbury schools, Grow Waitaha is using this physical rebuild as an opportunity to construct innovative environments that look to the future of learning.
Grow Waitaha required a dynamic brand identity that would help activate the stories and relationships of the area past, present and future – and enhance the connectivity of kids, whanau, communitites and schools.
We feel extremely privileged to be commissioned to undertake such an innovative and valuable project.
At the heart of the visual identity are six tiles representing the programme’s core values. These tiles form the Poutama – a stepped pattern found in tukutuku panels which symbolises levels of achievement in schooling. The many possible iterations of the identity reflects Grow Waitaha’s tailored approach to education.
